People often ask me why I started blogging? What are the tangible and intangible benefits of the blogging? Will it give you both money and fame? Is it really worth to devote time to it?

I will try to answer these questions in this post.

When a blogger start blogging, he or she is excited and motivate. But as the time progresses, they may feel lazy, less motivated and slowed it down. Hopefully, this post will motivate all you people for blogging again.

So let’s see why I started blogging and why it keeps me self-motivated?

Improved Writing Skills:- 

Frankly, I am not convent educated or started my education with English medium school. So before blogging my writing skills was not that strong and matured.

But as I started writing in blogging I learned new words, improved my vocabulary. I also learnt how to start and begin a storytelling.

So the result, I have a better email writing skills, better article writing skills. I write quotes for my friend’s marriage anniversary card . Isn’t it great to blog and acquire writing skills?

One more thing you can add to resume:-

So now in my official resume at Linkedin, I do mention my blogging profile. It helps me in two-way. First, I acquired knowledge of HTML and CSS, SEO because of WordPress. Secondly, as your blog is famous, a recruiter or agency may contact you for an offer.

It definitely adds a positive point in your resume and you must add it.


Blogging is not for the people who want to work alone. I have got many new friends online and got a chance to learn and share my idea with them.

It is really nice to see to see your work is appreciated from all around the world and people become your regular followers and eager to hear from you.

Who says a Blogger can’t be a celebrity or has fan followings.

Help Someone:-

This is the biggest satisfaction you will get while blogging. I never felt it in my 9 to 5 job. In blogging, you will directly interact and solve their problems.

People read blogs mostly to find the solution to some issue. It gives me immense satisfaction to serve them the answer or help them to take a decision.

Where is the Money:-

As you invested in your blog, you will expect to earn back. People earn from their blog by Ads and referring affiliate product.

Money is one of biggest motivation for every blogger. Some blogger earns thousands of dollar every month. Money keeps a blogger motivated in work.


Before writing about a topic, a blogger has to research on that topic. They also create  data, image and statistics about the topic.

This exercise gives you a very good idea about many topics. You can easily discuss it in any forum. It will give you more knowledge about your domain and with every topic, you will be one step closer to be an expert.

After writing 200+ post, I feel more comfortable on my blogging niche. The same goes for any other niche like photography or travelling blogs.

Impact on the society:-

Every successful blogger makes an impact to the society. People see you as an influencer, inspiration, and Entrepreneur. Some of your posts will help the community and show the way for others.

It fell so nice for a blogger to help others and set an example for others. As your audience grows, the impact will be more.

Disciplined life:-

A blogger has to follow a disciplined life. Whether you are a full time or part time blogger, you have to follow a timetable to complete everything.

In any other career to be successful, you have to be in discipline. In Blogging, it comes naturally.

As a blogger, You normally have a lot of activity like blog commenting, reply to a comment, create a post, SEO, share post etc and requires time management to complete it within a timeframe.

A place to share my thoughts:-

People normally write a diary to share thought to themselves. A blog has the unlimited range for your thoughts. Within minutes, you can share it with the world.

Sometimes we keep an opinion about a certain decision, thoughts or product; a blog is a great place to write down your thoughts and let the world know what you think about it.

You gather your thoughts, share it wth the world and it let others share their view. A blog is one of the best places to do it.

A blog is a memory too:-

Someone said you can kill a man, but not his thought. Same goes for a blog; a blog is a great place to keep all your thoughts together. You can check it anytime, even when you are very old.

It is a creation of your thoughts and will never die.

For example, a food blogger can preserver his/her recipe forever in the blog and anybody can check and learn it anytime anywhere. Isn’t amazing!


A blog is not just simple writing. It involves a lot of activities, struggle, engagement, review, mentor and coordination. It also needs a lot of focus.

It is very different from 9 to 5 job. It needs creativity and some real hard work. The earning or return of investment depends on how much you work.

Sometimes blogger lost focus a bit because of more work, lazy approach or bad response. You need to remember all the above points, motivates yourself (as there is no manager here) and keep working towards your goal.

I had put down blogging as one of my skills in my resume and whenever I would go for an interview, I would get selected because the employers thought that a blogger has more practical knowledge and not just bookish knowledge. Blogging has really been an amazing journey so far for me. And it’s only been 6 months.

    I love blogging because of the relationships I build with people and the ability to use this platform as my creative outlet.
    When you have your own blog, you get to write about what YOU feel inspired to communicate. It’s also a cool way to play with design. You experience a sense of joy when you craft up your website to your specifications. Sort of like decorating your home.
